Creating a Lean Management System (LMS)
Leading and Sustaining Lean involves a framework of strategic alignment, disciplined culture and operational transparency. The Lean Management System is comprised of elements including process metrics, leader standard work, A3 problem solving, accountability boards, suggestion systems and Gemba walks. This training is designed to teach a disciplined process to foster a problem-solving culture, to build accountability and to reinforce PDCA thinking and management.
- Understand the elements of a Lean Management System
- Learn Steelcase's techniques for making problems visible and creating a problem solving culture
- See the connection between visual systems, problem solving, accountability methods, and leader standard work.
- See examples of Leader Standard Work, process audits, suggestion systems, problem solving, and accountability systems.
Presenter: David Hicks
David Hicks collaborates with companies to achieve cost, quality and delivery results. He focuses on improving business and production processes by developing Leaders utilizing Lean techniques to relentlessly solve problems. He is a Registered Professional Engineer with more than 30 years of experience in manufacturing, quality & statistics, training, test engineering, plant management, and research & development. He is a proven leader in the automotive and metal industries with a successful record of building participatory management teams and bottom line contributions. He gives back to the Lean community as a volunteer with ASQ’s Lean Enterprise Division and as a Reviewer for the AME/ASQ/Shingo/SME Lean Bronze Certification. He is also a Certified Training Within Industry Instructor.
